Why WWE Should Regret Letting Taryn Terrell Go

Taryn Terrell
Hello everyone and welcome back to Talk Wrestling World! I hope you had a great Christmas and Happy New year. Here on my blog I'm kicking off the year with dedicating January to the Women of professional wrestling. I mentioned in a recent post that I will be doing special series' on my blog each month paying extra attention to a particular subject from NXT to TNA to the women of the business and many many more. If you have any suggestions as to what you series you would like to see this year then please let me know down in the comment's bellow or by tweeting me at @TezangiVictoria. Today, I'm looking at a former WWE diva and current TNA Knockout, Taryn Terrell discussing why the WWE should regret letting her go. I will make sure to leave the links bellow to any recent post's so you can keep all up to date, including my "changes happening in 2015" where I talk about some alterations being added to Talk Wrestling World this year. Right, let's get into the post.

Over the year the WWE have missed the ball on many talents especially with it's female talent. I've made several post here on Talk Wrestling World discussing this matter raising the point that the company have failed talents such as Drew McIntyre, Aksana, Gail Kim, Curt Hawkins and so so many more. Today, I'm focusing completely on Taryn Terrell. An extremely talented women who the WWE failed big time with and used only as eye candy and a way to sell the product more. I'm going to given you a little recap of her time in the WWE, what she has gone to achieve since leaving the company and why the WWE should regret ever letting Taryn Terrell go.

In 2007 Taryn Terrell tried out in the annual WWE divas search and was left down to the final eight however being eliminated at number four. The following year the company gave her a developmental contract and she was sent down to train further in Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) and given the ring name Tiffany. She would soon debut on the main roster in ECW as the general manager and later on in the year she would participate in a divas battle royal. Her proper. She would go on to be apart of many divas tag team matches on RAW and appear in backstage segments. Tiffany later debuted for Smackdown and made an alliance with Kelly Kelly. The worked as a baby face team feuding with the likes of LayCool. Her first singles match was against Laylay but after an interference from Michelle McCool Tiffany lost the match. Tiffany's last match for the company would be for the Women's championship against Laylay but failed to capture the title. On August 30, 2010, it was reported that WWE had suspended Tiffany because of an incident involving her real life husband Drew McIntyre. She was later released from her contract before being able to return to WWE programming.

While Terrell's time in the WWE was not the worse it was far from the best. The company failed to use her to her best abilities and clearly viewed her as another blonde hottie to perfectly use to sell the product. Her character didn't provide enough, her time in the ring was not long enough and she was never put in a strong solo feud/storyline. They never gave her the push she rightfully deserved and the attention she deserved as a female professional wrestler. Because of how she was utilised I never had faith in her or saw her as a major diva to watch out for. However that being said, whenever she was in the ring she managed to always impress me mainly because I never expected her to be able to do what she was showing. She had many great little moment's that fans will remember her for but none of her work in the WWE stand out in her career.

It was not until Taryn went to TNA that I realised just how talented she was and just how much the WWE had missed the ball with her. The build up to her being a top knockout in the company was good, with already top names in the company such as Angelina Love, Gail Kim, Madison Rayne, Velvet Sky and more, Taryn had a lot of big names to live up to and had a lot to prove. I think we can all agree that the turning point in Terrell's career was her feud with Gail Kim. Talking of Gail Kim, she is another women that in my opinion the WWE failed. Every true wrestling fan would agree when I say that Gail is one of the all time greats. She has more than earned the right to be named one of the best female wrestlers of her generation or in fact ever. However, the WWE never used her to the best of her ability in my opinion. Her early career was strong and she had a far far far better time there than Taryn but there were many less talented divas in the locker room who received better treatment and more ring and TV time than her. When the two girls began their feud in TNA at first I wasn't expecting much mainly because at that time I wasn't a huge fan of Taryn Terrell but that all changed very very quickly.

I'm sure you will all remember the last knockout standing match the two had with ODB as the special guest referee; this match has gone down in history to be one of the greatest women's professional wrestling matches of all time. Now, if you haven't seen this match then you really have been missing out and as soon as you finish reading this you need to hit YouTube because your about to be completely amazed. I don't think anyone could have predicted what these two actually gave us. From start to finish they brought it and took it all to knew levels. I knew what Gail was capable of, we all
did but Taryn completely blew me away. Yes, she had previously been in some strong matches but I never thought she was capable of doing what she did on that night. The two girls completely stole the show and Taryn gained bags of respect from every single fan. She sold moves great, executed moves to perfection and did stuff in the ring that women simply shouldn't be able to do. I think everyone was left a little stunned by the ending as Taryn managed to defeat Gail Kim. The second time the two were given a strong match was their ladder match for a number one contenders contract for the TNA  Knockouts championship. This match was equally as good as their first one and once again they stole the show. Taryn didn't fail in exceeding the expectations and living up to her previous strong performance. Once again both girls took it to another level and rose the bar. This time however Taryn didn't pick up the win but had some amazing moments and the two once again got "holy shit" and "this is awesome" chants. Now tell me, when was the last time two main roster divas got that reaction from a crowd.

During her feud with Gail Kim Taryn proved she is more than a pretty face. She proved that she is one of the best female pro wrestlers around right now. Taking things to the extreme and showing so much character and heart earned her a huge following. She has improved so much in the ring and as a character and it's that that has gained her that following alongside her amazing talent. Unlike the WWE, TNA have shown the world what Taryn Terrell is capable of. She's not been portrayed as a talent's, hot blonde who can't wrestle and if the WWE did the same they could of easily had one of the greatest divas of all time. Taryn recently became the new Knockouts champion and what a great champion she is set to be and she proves that hard work and improvement pays off and shows.

I know many people will say that the WWE does not give it's female talent the time and match stipulation variety in order to show off what they are capable of doing, but that's just another problem in itself and it's no excuse. The WWE still could of portrayed Taryn much much better. If we look at what the girls down in NXT are doing right now proving that it's all about booking. To this day we are still seeing other Taryn Terrell's, girls like Emma and Summer Rae and Naomi and Natalya are all divas not being used to their full potential, I could only imagine what these girls would be achieving if they were in TNA or the independent circuit.
The WWE should one hundred per cent regret letting Taryn go. She was one of those rare girls who had it all; an amazing body, great personality, decent mic work, beautiful and most importantly outstanding wrestling ability. There were many times Taryn proved she was an amazing wrestler while in the WWE. Weather things would of been different is certain things behind the scene's didn't happen we will never know but what the WWE continue to do is overlook it's female talent. It's been proven Taryn is not the final girl to get this treatment, many divas are not being given the chance and time to prove everyone wrong and improve. If the WWE had tried to not use it's female employees like Taryn to sell the product and to act as eye candy than we would be looking at ccompletelydifferent past, present, future and division all together. The company missed the chance of having a girl with it all. Taryn is one of those talents who doesn't need to be in a reality to show to sell the product or make you want to watch a match. Her skills are enough and her beauty is an added extra.

But what do you think? Are you a fan of Taryn Terrell? Do you think the WWE missed the ball with her? Let me know by leaving a comment bellow.
