Top Twenty Superstars of the year: 15-11

Hello everyone and welcome back to Talk Wrestling World. It's December and it's time for my official top five, tens and twenties of the year. You would have already seen part one of this post witch saw me count down my top twenty superstars of the week from numbers 20 to 16 and I will make sure to leave the link to that and any other recent post bellow so you can check those out if you haven't already done so. You can also let me know who you're superstar of the year is by leaving a comment bellow or by tweeting me at @TezangiVictoria.

15) The Usos
Kicking off the top 15 to 11 superstars of the year is the Usos. Now I know pretty much all of you are going to be shocked with this entry considering how much I moan an hate on the Usos but even though I'm clearly not a huge fan of them I can not deny the simple fact they have been two huge stand outs right through the year. I thought the problem I developed was, I was all for them at the start of the year but then it all just got too much. It was like they were on my screen every single night, you couldn't even escape them on total divas! They grew to be boring and predictable and as I result I became their number one hater. However they have been in some of the best tag team matches we have seen from the company in not just this year but in many many years. Out of nowhere they were just thrown right into the spotlight and given huge huge opportunities. They managed to capture the tag team championships off of the real age outlaws after what was actually a really good feud between two great tag teams. They also had an amazing amazing feud with Erick Rowan and Luke Harper witch gave us some of the best tag team action in years. They were also put in the Bray Wyatt/Cena feud witch really did contribute greatly to the reason I had them in my list.

14) Sheamus
Up next, coming in at number fourteen is Sheamus. This has been a pretty awesome year for Sheamus and although he might not of done anything major, he has still been put in the front line and has had a great year. It all started out back in January when he made he's return to the WWE at the Royal Rumble pay per view after being out of action for six months due to a shoulder injury. Entertaining at number seventeen Sheamus came out to a loud, crazy reaction from the crowd and ran he's way down to the ring. Now Sheamus has an amazing history in the Royal Rumble and this year was no different. Once again he cam down to the last three, standing in the ring with Roman Reigns and Batista. He may not of actually won the match but he had an amazing performance as usual. The next month he was put in the elimination chamber match for the WWE World Heavyweight championship. Of course he had yet another amazing performance and was once again thrown into the spotlight, the main event spotlight. At Wrestlemania he contributed in the Andre the giant battle royal witch the WWE used to build him up even more and he was pushed as a top superstar in the company. He would then go on to win the United States championship in a battle royal eliminating the champ Dean Ambrose. This would set him on a strong path and he would compete in some amazing matches mainly with Cesaro. He was also apart of the Money in the bank main event where he had an outstanding performance. It's also important to highlight the fact the WWE had huge plans for him before there was a change in certain storyline's.

13) Sami Zayn
At number thirteen is our final NXT entry in my top twenty superstars of the year and of course it is Mr Sami Zayn himself. This would of came to no surprise to any of you; I'm a huge fan of Zayn and I have been pretty vocal about it over the past twelve months to say the very least. I think this has been an outstanding year for Zayn and he has really come into himself. We all know he was one of the most over NXT superstars from the moment he was signed and he had an amazing year last year and managed to live up to the expectations in two thousand and fourteen. Zayn kicked off the year amazingly working a huge feud with Cesaro. Now I'm sure you have all seen the matches between the two but if you haven't then what you waiting for? Go and watch them right now! Zayn competed in the first NXT live show, NXT Arrival and competed in a two out of three falls match witch many are calling one of the matches of the year. At the third live show he was in another amazing match this time with Tyler Breeze. And at NXT Takeover fatal four way he was involved in one of the best matches of the year once again.

12) Cesaro
Coming in at number twelve in my top twenty superstars of the year is Cesaro. I'm sure you all already knew I was going to have Cesaro in the list somewhere. This year Cesaro has really come into the spotlight out of nowhere. The Swiss superman finally got he's time to shine and was able to show just how talented and underrated he is. At the start of the year Cesaro spent a lot of he's time working in NXT. As you probably would of seen, he was put in a huge feud with the man considered to be the face of NXT, Sami Zayn. He's working this feud the same tie he was receiving a huge push on the main roster, so it was pretty much three months of Cesaro galore and all of a sudden he was put right in the spotlight and so he deserved that. Out of nowhere the WWE gave him the push he need, he of course already had many underrated matches from the past but this year he really did shine. I'm sure most of you will agree that the Sami Zayn VS Cesaro two out of three falls match was one of the best matches of the year. The true turning point for him on the main roster was he's one on one match with John Cena. A lot of people thought Cena was just gonna walk all over Cesaro and it basically be squash match, but that was not the case what so ever. In the space of twenty minuets, Cesaro had earned the respect of every single member of the WWE universe and finally everyone knew what he was capable of. I for one was amazed with what I saw and I really considered it to be one of the best matches of the year. From that point onwards Cesaro got a huge push; he was put in the elimination chamber and had an amazing performance, he won the Andre the giant battle royal in one of the most shocking, impressive way's and on the following night the shocks kept coming as Cesaro announced himself to be the new Paul Heyman guy! He also competed at Money in the bank in the main event with yet another amazing performance. From that point he did go a little down hill and the WWE lost interest in him a little. However he still competed in huge matches, some of the best even, and was put in feuds for both the IC and United States championship. This was the year of Cesaro, he really did come into himself and even though he might not have had the best end to the year, he had a great start and a decent 12 months altogether.

11) Rusev
At number eleven might come to a little shock to some of you, especially considering how high on the list he is, but it's the new star on the block, Rusev. I know over the past year I have moaned about Rusev on numerous occasions but their is no hiding the fact that he has had one truly amazing year. He didn't to that much in NXT but the character building was strong and the WWE did a good job building him up before the he made he's way to the main roster. The first time we did see him on the main roster was at the Royal Rumble pay per view back in January. He got a little reaction from the crowd when he came out to a fiery crowd but when he actually got in the ring he impressed everyone with he's diversity and what he could actually do in the ring, and he was once again made to look really good when it took a handful of superstars to eliminate him. When he did finally have he's official debut the WWE gave him an extremely controversial gimmick that worked really well. Him and Lana soon became the two huge heels in the company and the WWE universe picked up a a strong passion towards he's work for obvious reasons. As a result he was put on a huge role of feuds against the likes of Jack Swagger, Big E, The big show and more, with each one having Rusev coming up on top. This really did hope push Rusev to the fullest and he shined most in he's work with Jack Swagger. We may not like the guy but the reality is, is he has defeated a number of World champions. The addition of Lana was perfect and she really did help boost he's popularity. Storyline wise Rusev had some of the best work of the year. Of course the highlight of he's career this year was scoring the United States championship off of Sheamus. This really did add more to him and he's year and he was thrown into the main event picture for Survivor Series. You may not like the guy and the gimmick but he has one heck of a 2014 and I predict and even better 2015.
