Superstar Of The Year: Seth Rollins

Hello everyone and welcome back to Talk Wrestling World. So we have finally made it guy's. It's officially the last post in my December "Of the year" season. As you will already know, throughout the month I have been giving you my best of the year post including, superstar, diva, matches, debut and plenty plenty more. I have to admit, although this has been a really hard month I have actually really enjoyed writing all these up and I'm kinda sad it's the end now. Today is the big one, the one we have all been waiting for, my superstar of the year, and after dropping hint after hint I can finally reveal who it is. Remember this post has not been influenced by any of my readers or followers and has been written according to my own notes and opinions. You can let me know who YOUR superstar of the year is by leaving a comment bellow or by tweeting me at @TezangiVictoria, I will also leave the link's bellow to parts one and two of this post.

I have to be honest out of all the posts I have done in this series this was probably the easiest one for me; I knew a thew month's back who was going to be my superstar of the year. I had my little changes between a couple of other guys on the main roster but it was always the same person who ended up being at the top. So as you can already tell from the title and picture my superstar of the year is Seth Rollins. As I already mentioned this was not a difficult decision to make what so ever. When I was going over all my notes from the past twelve month's including, tweets and blog posts there was one name that kept popping up, that name of course being Seth Rollins. This has been a truly epic year for Rollins that has seen him achieve things that superstars that have been on the roster a lot longer than him have not yet achieved. From January to December Seth has been on fire and we have seen a growth in him every single week. Whenever he was put on our TV screens he showed more and more and the improvements just kept coming. It is more than evident that the WWE get many thing's wrong. From it's talent to it's storyline's and bookings but the one thing the company did not get wrong what so ever this year was Seth Rollins. That have created the future and put him in that future. We have seen a new face of the WWE arise in Seth Rollins and with such a strong year on he's back we can only expect another truly epic twelve month's to come. But before we dive into the future let's go back in time and re-live some of the amazing moments that have led to Rollins being my superstar of the year.

Back in January the WWE began to show crack's in one of the strongest factions the company had seen in recent years, The Shield. With several backstage work and segments everyone began to make their predictions as to when the Shield would split and what would be the future for Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose. On the "Old School" addition of Monday night RAW, Rowdy Rody Piper would make an appearance and confront the young stars that are the shield. With Ambrose beginning to steal the lime light as per usual, Seth Rollins would soon step in and take control of the segment. This would become a regular thing that we would see for month's between the three guy's. Seth would play the piece maker several time's even at the Royal Rumble pay per view in a backstage segment. Throughout the month of January Seth would have several amazing matches but no performance matched up to he's Royal Rumble performance. Entering he's first Royal Rumble, Seth
would start the match at number two and would last quite some time. He's performance was amazing and he really was the stand out in this match in my opinion and he really did make everyone look at him even more and pay much much more attention to him.
Seth would go on to be the piece maker of the Shield well after Royal Rumble. After participating in a huge six an tag match on RAW, Rollins would draw the line and make a huge mark, when he left Reigns and Ambrose to fight one of their toughest matches they had of the year. Little did we know this was a huge deal and one that we would all wish we paid more attention too. While at the time it
looked like Seth had simply had enough and was trying to bring peace back to the faction what the WWE were really doing was setting us up for something huge to come later on in the year. This would highlight Rollins as a superstar to watch out for in the future. It proved he knew how to shock the crowd, leaving us question the real motives of Seth Rollins. Anyway he's plan worked and the Shield were back on track, stronger than ever.

For the next several months the three up coming stars would continue to dominate the main roster. Stealing the show most week's on RAW and at many pay per views. One of the best matches of the year comes from the six man tag match at the Elimination chamber, witch saw The Shield square off with the Wyatt family. This was a huge match that left a lot of the WWE universe on their feet claiming it was the match of the year. The WWE actually voted it the match of the year in the mid year post on WWE.COM. Seth was a strong stand out in this match, competing the most out of he's Shield team mates, selling every move like a pro and leaving us speechless jumping over and through ropes left right and centre. He also went two and O at Wrestlemania after scoring a win over Kane and the New age out laws in six man tag action. The WWE would then send the upcoming stars on a huge push as they went into one of the biggest feuds of the year as they squared off with a reuniting Evolution. This would see some of the best work from all three guy's but especially Seth Rollins. This was when we would really begin to see a huge improvement in Seth's mic work but also he's character. He hands down stole the show both at Payback and Extreme rules with he's crazy moves from all over the arena witch I have to admit gave me some Jeff Hardy flashbacks. It was during this feud that Seth really began to still the spotlight and everyone wanted to see and know more about Rollins.

The night after Payback saw one of the biggest shocks of the year, as the glue of the Shield began to loose it's stick. Now, I have to admit I knew the Shield was coming to and end, we all knew that, but I was more than convinced that it would be Dean Ambrose to do the stabbing in the back and have the ultimate heel turn, and trust me I wasn't the only one to think so. However the WWE left us all
speechless when Seth Rollins did the unpredictable and turnt on he's team mates/ brothers, shocking the entire WWE universe. I'll admit it, I did curse quite a bit at my TV screen witch I'm sure my neighbours still remember, but after a week of mourning over the split I did see how much of an amazing move it was to make. The WWE one hundred per cent made the right decision turning Seth heel. Yes he makes a great baby face but he's heel work is some of the best we have seen and I have to be honest, I think Seth is probably the best heel we have seen in years. It was from this moment that Seth really began to shine. He became and insane heel, knowing exactly how to get under the skin of the WWE universe creating a strong connection with the fans.

This year alone Rollins has achieved things that would take most upcoming stars years and years to achieve. An amazing performance at the royal rumble, four Slammy Awards, Money in the bank winner, main eventing three pay per views, being apart of some of the biggest matches of the year and so so much more. He has developed a well deserved following and has shown improvements in ever single area week after week after week and they have all been so evident. He's more fluent on the mic and comfortable, he's developed a strong connection with the fans and has turnt out to be one of the biggest heels the company has. The guy simply knows how to be the bad guy. The villain. The one everyone is suppose to hate. From he's mic work, to the way he carries himself to the character he portrays in the ring while wrestling. Highlights of the year for him include, he's performance at Elimination chamber, Royal Rumble, Extreme rules and Payback. There was also he's amazing one on one matches with Dean Ambrose, Dolph Ziggler and John Cena. And of course he's outstanding performance at Survivor Series. He has been centre stage in some of the biggest storyline's of the year and has out shone top veterans such as John Cena and Randy Orton.

He's feud with Dean Ambrose would go one to be arguably the feud of the year, and would cement a strong future for both superstars. This was when we really began to see the very best of Seth. He proved to be a top top heel and top superstar in the company. He's mic work improved every single week and he's character development was fast and effective. The WWE pushed him as a main event star almost straight away. Having him main event several episodes of both RAW and Smackdown. He had huge matches on pay per views, including Summer Slam and he featured on many episodes of Main event. He also won the money in the bank ladder match becoming Mr Money in the bank. He main evented hell in a cell giving him another huge win over Dean Ambrose. He connected with the fans amazingly and quickly created the heel character of Seth Rollins. He has also main evented several house shows. He's run with the Authority was amazing and he has had the best solo year a young, upcoming star could wish for. He win/loss ratio is extremely impressive and to be honest I think Rollins is heading into an even bigger 2015.

This has hands down been the year of Seth Rollins. I have tried to keep this post as short as I can as I have spoke about Rollins many times on my blog and I will leave all the link's bellow to where you can find out more as to why Seth is my superstar of the year.
