This list has been judged by what I have seen over the year and who has left me impressed the most.  (THIS LIST DOES NOT INCLUDE NXT DIVAS)

 5) Summer Rae
Kicking off my Top Five Divas of the year post is Summer Rae. I'm sure a lot of you are pretty surprised Summer has made it into such a big post, after all I'm calling her one of the best divas of the year; but I do think that she has more than earned her place. Now, at the start of the year I hated Summer. I moaned about her on a daily basis, saying she shouldn't be in the company, she doesn't deserve all the TV time she was getting and flat out hating on the girl; but I have seriously grown to love her and I have become a huge fan of hers. Is he the best female wrestler on the roster? No, absolutely not. But she is one of the most improved and underrated divas on the roster for sure. What I love most about her is the fact she has used everything to her advantage. She has used everything the WWE has to offer to boost her popularity and improve her wrestling ability, taking full advantage of the facilities provided. Unlike some divas who I won't name (Eva Marie), Summer has used NXT to her advantage. She used the developmental centre to do just that, help her develop. She used it to help her build a solo career away from Fandango, to help her create a name for herself, to create Summer Rae and not just let herself be known as the girl that dances with a WWE superstar. She used NXT to prove she can wrestle, that she wants to learn and wants to be a success in the WWE and the divas division.Even when apart of the main roster and Total Divas, Summer was still in storyline's down at NXT and unlike some people she never moaned about working down in developmental. When in NXT, her character development was perfect and she was involved in major storyline's and pretty big matches that helped give her a name. We may not see much of her wrestling ability on the main roster, but all you have to do is YouTube her NXT work and you will be pretty amazed. Also this year she joined the Total Divas cast, became the first diva to be in a WWE feature movie and has been involved in bigger storyline on the main roster. She has competed on RAW, Smackdown, Main event and even live pay per views. She did some great work with Fandango and Layla and has proven to be a diva to watch out for in the future. This has hands down been the year of Summer. She has improved greatly and has come up out of nowhere. Watch out because the next year looks to be a bright Summer.

4) Brie Bella
At number four is Brie Bella. Now I know I moan pretty much on a daily basis about the Bella twins, but after looking back at all the action from the divas division over the past year it was clear that both girls stood out and have owned their division. Right from the start to the end of the year Brie has been a stand out. We may slag her off a heck of a lot but she has been one of the most improved divas of the year and has done more than any other diva on the roster has done. After becoming the face of the hit reality show Total Divas, Brie had developed a strong following and fan base, with a lot of people wanting to see more of her. So with the success of Total Divas, the WWE gave Brie one hell of a push and she has been given a year all the divas in the locker room would die for. She played a huge role at the start of the year leading up to Wrestlemania as her husband was set to compete for the WWE World Heavyweight championship. They had her stand alongside husband Daniel Bryan throughout the lead up to he's match at the big stage and she would really rise after Wrestlemania in the lead up to extreme rules. They had her help Bryan open and close numerous episodes of Monday night RAW.  She began to be apart of major segments and promos and began to play a huge role in the Kane/Daniel Bryan storyline, appearing on RAW on a weakly basis. She was also put in many matches that showed her wrestling ability, witch we all know was better than her acting. We don't need to re-live that. At the Payback pay per view, Brie was thrown into the spotlight when her career was on the line and she quit as part of a major storyline. When she came back her career went through the roof and she was able to do things every WWE diva dreams of doing. The company put her in a feud with the boss, Stephanie McMahon. Tell me what diva doesn't dream of feuding with Stephanie McMahon. Upon her return and new feud, Brie would show us serious mic work improvement She was appearing more genuine and realistic. Not as fake and overly done. She was more fluent and easier to listen too. Her feud with Stephanie was done to perfection. She put everything in it and really shined. This was a true turning point in her career. Brie would go on to face Stephanie at one of the biggest pay per views of the year Summer Slam; She may not have one but did a great job. This has been a great year for Brie Bella.

3) Nikki Bella
Coming in at number three is another Bella twin this time it's the one and only Nikki Bella. Let's be honest we all knew I was going to have Nikki in my Top Five Divas Of The Year post, I must of hinted like a thousand times. As I just mentioned, I have moaned none stop this year about the Bella twins and have made some pretty harsh comments on both Twitter and here on my Blog. Nikki in particular this year has had a lot of hate and backlash to deal with and I have to admit she has dealt with it extremely well and has not let the haters put her down. She has fastly become one of the most improved WWE divas of the year and has even been considered to be a potential face of the WWE
divas division. Her year may not have kicked started as well as her sister Brie had but she really did turn things around and become one of the top divas of the year. Since the start of Total Divas Nikki has been considered the face of the reality show alongside her sister and this year despite two new additions that has not changed. Her popularity has risen even more and the WWE have given her one of the biggest diva pushes of the year. She was obviously apart of the storyline with Brie were she
was being punished for her sister quitting witch she worked really well and really did help re-establish her and push her as a singles competitor. At the Summer Slam pay per view Nikki had her much anticipated heel turn, turning on Brie and costing her her match against Stephanie McMahon. Nikki pulled off her heel turn to perfection and it looked and came across great.  She executed it well and even though it was predictable and I new it was going to happen I still kinda marked out a little. Nikki has proven since August she is a true heel and to be honest I have always thought she makes  better heel and she has proved that this year. Her mic work has improved a lot and she has been apart of a huge storyline feud with her sister that has been pretty hit and miss but it worked well for them, especially Nikki. The true turning point for Nikki this year was her triple threat match for the divas championship. She may not have won but she was in the ring with both AJ Lee and Paige and she put them to shame and was hands down the diva of that match. Her move set is extremely wide, she has one heck of a finisher and clearly has strength on her side.

2) AJ Lee
Coming in at number two and just missing out on the number one spot is AJ Lee. To be honest deciding weather to put AJ at number one or number two was the hardest decision of this whole series. It's evident that AJ Is the people champion. She's one of the best WWE divas the company has had in many years and is hands down the face of her division. Last year Lee had an epic twelve months and this year was no different what so ever. She started the year on a high and has ended it on one too. This year AJ had made history on several occasions and has achieved stuff most divas can only dream of. After becoming the WWE divas champion last year at Battleground when she defeated Kaitlyn, she became the longest reining divas champion in history eventually loosing the title to upcoming diva Paige. Before dropping the title AJ would an amazing six months. She was apart of some of the best divas matches of the year including a one on one match with Kaitlyn on Main event and Natalya also on Main event. Personally I think these are two very underrated divas matches and I advise you to seriously go check them out if you haven't already seen them. She had a successful title defence at Elimination Chamber against Cameron and has stepped in the ring with any opponents that have come her way. She also made history again at Wrestlemania thirty when she became the first diva to defend the WWE divas championship as Wrestlemania and to top it she was successful in doing so. She also had a great promo for Wrestlemania witch once again showed her amazing mic work. AJ would return to the WWE several months back and re-capture her divas championship after defeating Paige on the night of her return becoming a two time divas champion. Leading up to the next pay per view AJ was involved in one of the most anticipated divas feuds in years (witch didn't go down as well as expected) with the anti diva herself Paige. She would compete on a weekly basis on RAW and on Smackdown, working as a strong baby face. At Summer Slam she dropped the title once again to Paige after a long, heart felt match witch saw one of Lee's best performances of the year. In the lead up to the Night of Champions pay per view Lee would go one a winning streak defeating the likes of Alicia Fox and Eva Marie. She was also involved in a big diva segment that would announce that at the Night of champions pay per view she would compete in a triple threat match for the divas championship against Nikki Bella and Paige. The night of the pay per view gave Lee much luck as she won the divas championship once again making her now a three time divas champion. She had many successful title defences after that pay per view. In one year AJ has worked amazingly as both a heel and a baby face and has been extremely over in both runs. She has become the longest reigning divas champion and a three time divas champion. She has hands down, easily scored herself a spot in the Hall of fame in the future and she has more than earned the right to be called one of the greatest divas of all time and one of the top divas of the year.

1) Paige
This year's Diva of the year is the anti diva herself Paige. A separate post will be up later this week.
