Top Ten Matches Of The Year: 10-1

Hello everyone and welcome back to Talk Wrestling World. So it's the end of the year, December has rolled around and as you already know it's a huge four weeks here on my blog. Throughout the month I have been giving you my official top five's, ten's and twenties of the year. As I've said before, kind of like my very own version of the slammys. All the posts in this series have been judged by my own thoughts and notes from the past twelve months, none of the post's come from this year have been influenced by any of the people who read my blog of follow me on Twitter. I do however want to know what you think! So feel free to leave a comment bellow or tweet me at @TezangiVictoria letting me know what YOU'RE match of the year is. I will leave the links bellow to part one and any other recent posts so you can keep up to date and check them out if you have not already done so.

10) Dean Ambrose VS Seth Rollins  (Hell In A Cell)
Kicking off my top ten WWE matches of the year is the Hell in a Cell main event, that took place back in September against Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins. This is not the first time these guys have and will appear in this list but they have truly earned this spot. First off, I think it's important to highlight the fact that these two main evented a major pay per view in the first place. I honestly thought it would be a long time before we would be able to say that. This match had everything anyone could ever want. It gave you that attitude ear feeling, a feeling of crazy excitement and it had that unpredictability factor. I don't think I have felt this way about a match in ages and it was amazing. The excitement never ended and the action literally started from the moment Ambrose made he's way to the ring. Both guy's went through tables, had chairs swiped across their backs and thrown into steps. They used the cage to their full advantage witch we haven't seen anyone do in years. The match had everyone on edge and excited and the ending of the match was strong. This match ended an outstanding feud  and cemented a strong future or both the young stars.

9)The Usos VS Luke Harper & Erick Rowan ( Battleground 2/3 falls match)
Coming in at number nine is of course the big two out of three falls match for the tag team championships at the Battleground pay per view between The Usos and Luke Harper & Erick Rowan. Now, the whole world know's how critical I am of tag team wrestling. I'm a huge fan and so have really really high expectations. Over the past several years the tag division in WWE has been weak to say the least and so I had pretty much gave up on the division in the company. However when the Usos entered a heated feud with The Wyatt family's Luke Harper and Erick Rowan the tag division rocketed in the WWE. The two teams had several amazing match up's but their Battleground match was hands down the best they had. It was one of the best two out of three falls tag team matches I have ever seen. There were bodies everywhere, crazy moves being executed from the top ropes by both teams and suicide dives left right and centre. The match left you speechless and it was 100% unpredictable. I thought the ending was disappointing but this was easily one of the best tag team matches in years and one of the best matches of the year

8) Sami Zayn VS Adrian Neville (NXT Takeover R Evolution)
Coming in at number eight is the NXT Takeover R Evolution main event witch saw Adrian Neville defend he's NXT championship against crowd favourite Sami Zayn. This was easily the most passionate match of the year. This was probably the best match in NXT history and the both superstars did amazing. The excitement and action never stopped and everyone was gripped from the moment they came down the ramp and to the ring. They stole the show on the night and proved the future is in perfect hands.

7) Dean Ambrose VS Seth Rollins (Summer Slam)
Up next is another Dean Ambrose/Seth Rollins match (I did warn you), this time it's their Summer Slam match up back in August. The match was stipulated as a Lumberjack match witch of course is what Ambrose decided after wining a beat the clock match to decide who will get to choose the stipulation. I did have my fair share of moans about this stipulation mainly because I'm not a fan of lumberjack matches, however this match alone changed my opinions completely and I have gone as far to say this was my favourite lumberjack match of all time. This match gave me and very other member of the WWE universe everything you want in a match. It wasn't you plain, boring, typical lumberjack match, the two superstars gave it their all. The actual lumberjacks got involved in the match, Ambrose and Rollins were going at it all around the arena and the crowd were 100% into the match. The chemistry between the two superstars is unreal and it was that that kept the fans so into the match and feud. The ending was perfect and the story telling and character throughout the match was outstanding.

6) Tyson Kidd VS Adrian Neville (NXT Takeover)
At number six is the first NXT match in the top ten and it comes from the Takeover main event between Adrian Neville and Tyson Kidd for the NXT Championship. This year Tyson Kidd has been doing a lot of work down in NXT and it was one of the best move's WWE has made in ages and has really opened the eyes of the fans, allowing us to see a side to Kidd we have never seen before. The build up to this match was perfect and they both played their roles as Kidd the heel and Neville the baby face to perfection. The actual match up was a huge huge turning point or both superstars, especially Tyson Kidd, who proved he is one of the most underrated stars in the company. The chemistry between the two superstars was so strong and it allowed the fans to really get into the match that much more. The match just had submission move after submission move, cover after cover and crazy move after crazy move. The two complimented each other in the ring so well and they used the ring and their surrounding's to their full advantage. A truly epic match up.

5) Bray Wyatt VS Daniel Bryan ( Royal Rumble)
We're half way through the list of my top ten WWE matches of the year and up next we have the first Royal Rumble match of the pay per view, witch saw Daniel Bryan go one on one with Bray Wyatt. After having an amazing feud for over a month the bar was set extremely high for the up coming talents and the night saw a huge turning point in the career of Bray Wyatt. The match did start out with Rowan and Harper a ringside however the referee did order them to be banned from ringside and sent them backstage. This is did not throw Bray off track what so ever, in fact it did the complete opposite and ended up being one of Bray's best matches in the company so far.The two had such great chemistry in the ring, the fans were gripped. The passion they both shared showed so well through our TV screens and the story telling was consistent and it really gave the match that something more that may other matches lack.

4) Charlotte VS Sasha Banks (NXT Takeover R Evolution)
Coming in at number four is by far the divas match of the year, witch saw Charlotte defend her NXT Women's championship against the boss, Sasha Banks. This was easily Sasha's night as she proved she is one of the best female talents the WWE have around at the moment and have signed in recent years. I will go as far to say this was the best divas match in the history of the WWE let a lone NXT.  I know that's a bold statement but this match had everything  you would wish for. They proved that women can do just as much as men can. They got a "this is awesome" chant and a "this is wrestling" chant. The character throughout the match was amazing, with Sasha mocking Charlotte and he father Ric Flair adding the extra heat to the whole thing. The athleticism, the physicality, the character and the pure wrestling ability was truly outstanding and they proved the future of the WWE divas division is in more than safe hands.

3) The Shield VS The Wyatt Family (Elimination Chamber)
At number three is one of the most anticipated, exciting and thrilling matches of the year. It of course is the six man tag team match against the Shield and the Wyatt family. These two teams were the two biggest factions the company had seen in recent years and after dominating the roster for over a year it was evident the six men would collide and when they did it would be truly epic. This match had everything you want in a wrestling match. From start to finish the entertainment and wrestling ability never ended. This was six huge character coming together to create one of the most epic matches the WWE has seen in recent years. The tension was there, the excitement was there, the anticipation was there. The crowd were wild throughout the match and they had every reason too. There were suicide dives left right and centre, Rollins jumping over ropes and Ambrose...well being Ambrose. This was also voted the match of the year several months back on WWE.com.

2) Tyler Breeze VS Sami Zayn VS Tyson Kidd VS Adrian Neville
Coming in at number two and just missing out on the number one spot is the main event for NXT Takeover two, Fatal Four way witch saw the NXT championship being defended in a fatal four way against Adrian Neville, Sami Zayn, Tyler Breeze and Tyson Kidd. I cannot describe just how amazing this match was. It was hands down one of the best fatal four way matches I have ever seen and if I'm honest I'm not the biggest fan of fatal four way  matches. The chemistry between all four guy's was amazing and what was truly awesome was how all four guy's felt involved and important, a lot of the time in fatal four way's there's always someone who feel's like they don't belong there, this
was not the case here. The crowd were electric and twitter went crazy over this match up. It was none stop action and you never knew were to look. Every single superstar stood out and the passion felt so real and strong. Their was nothing else I could have wanted from this match.

1) Team Cena VS Team Authority ( Survivor Series)
Finally coming in at number one and my official match of the year is the Team Cena VS Team Authority match up that took place last month at the Survivor Series pay per view. This was hands down the biggest most important match of the year and the strong build up paid off extremely well. The WWE did build this up to pretty much be a one match pay per view giving it their full attention for the good of three weeks. The match itself was amazing! What I loved the most how much the new talent got to really shine like Seth Rollins, Luke Harper, Erick Rowan and Rusev. The match was built up so well that everyone was into and with so much at steak the WWE universe was gripped throughout. With a whole hour in the ring the ten superstars put on the best show the company has seen in years. Everyone stood out for their own individual reasons, but it was Dolph Ziggler who stole the show. With the debut of Sting also being apart of this match, there was not a single doubt in my mind as to what was going to come number on in my match of the year. I wrote more about this match in my Survivor Series Review and Reactions witch I will leave the link too bellow.

BONUS MATCH- Randy Orton VS Dolph Ziggler (RAW 13/10/14)
My bonus match of the year is one that I would place as one of the best matches on RAW this year, it of course is the one on one match up between Dolph Ziggler and Randy Orton. This match was just perfection. These two don't have the best of chemistry in the ring but they know each others very different style and how to compliment each other in the ring. The execution of every match was pretty much perfect and well who can forget that amazing RKO ending.
